Week 1 — Big Data Science Life Cycle
Understand the data science lifecycle, roles, and real-world workflows. Get hands-on with Tableau and Google Colab using Python. Learn data collection, storage, and processing fundamentals, plus an introduction to business problem-solving with data. Project: analyze a Dallas-based oncology hospital dataset to explore patient trends and treatment indicators.
Week 2 — Exploratory Data Analytics with Python
Perform descriptive statistics and visual analytics using pandas and matplotlib. Learn to frame questions, clean data, and summarize insights. Data quality assessment, handling missing values, statistical distributions, and hypothesis testing basics. Project: rank and compare USA school performance using open data.
Week 3 — Machine Learning: Regression
Learn supervised ML using regression algorithms (linear, lasso, ridge). Work with Python libraries enhanced by Gen AI recommendations. Model evaluation, performance metrics, feature selection, and engineering techniques. Project: forecast product demand in retail using past sales data.
Week 4 — Machine Learning: Classification
Build and evaluate classification models like logistic regression and random forest. Use AI agents like ChatGPT and Gemini to explain code and tune models. Confusion matrices, precision, recall, F1-scores, cross-validation, and hyperparameter tuning. Project: predict hospital patient readmission status from historical data.
Week 5 — NLP and Text Analytics
Process text data with tokenization, TF-IDF, and sentiment analysis. Apply Python-based NLP with LLM support to auto-summarize reviews. Text preprocessing, feature extraction, named entity recognition, and topic modeling. Project: analyze Amazon and Yelp product and service reviews.
Week 6 — Feature Engineering + Agentic AI Foundations
Prepare data using transformations, binning, and advanced encoding. Introduction to Agentic AI: autonomous agents and multi-agent systems. Building AI agents with LangChain and AutoGen frameworks. AI Governance fundamentals: ethics, bias detection, and responsible AI. Project: profile income levels across Texas counties using SQL, Python, and R-Studio.
Week 7 — IBM Gen AI Certification: Setup & Guidance
Begin the IBM Gen AI certificate journey with 1:1 mentoring support. Set up the IBM SkillsBuild platform and complete key modules. Understand generative AI foundations and applications, plus AI ethics and responsible AI practices. Project: solve foundational IBM lab exercises using AI agents like Claude and Perplexity.
Week 8 — Agentic AI Development + Advanced Labs
Build autonomous AI agents for data analysis and report generation. Multi-agent orchestration and tool-use patterns. AI Governance: compliance frameworks and regulatory considerations. Deploying Agentic AI solutions in enterprise environments. Project: build Gen AI-powered tools for summarizing reports and analyzing text.
Week 9 — Agentic AI Applications + Certification
Finalize IBM Gen AI modules with an Agentic AI focus. Build production-ready AI agents for business automation. AI Governance: model monitoring, audit trails, and accountability. Agentic AI portfolio projects and documentation. Project: complete a capstone quiz and reflection exercise for certificate readiness.
Week 10 — Agentic AI Career Prep + Resume Building
Position yourself for Agentic AI Specialist and AI Governance roles. Resume writing for emerging AI job titles. Mock interviews focusing on Agentic AI concepts. LinkedIn optimization for AI-focused career paths. Project: build and review your first resume draft and simulate basic interview rounds.
Week 11 — Resume Writing + Interview Questions, Part 2
Continue mock interviews with deeper business cases and Gen AI tool usage. Practice with 400+ interview questions compiled from past graduates. Job offer evaluation, career growth strategies, technical interview preparation, and coding challenges. Project: final resume draft and a full-length mock interview.
Week 12 — Freelance Project + Final Prep
Complete a startup freelance project with guidance from our mentors. Get access to 100+ Python and R code templates, Google Colab notebooks, and support forums. Project delivery and client communication skills, plus career transition planning. Project: deliver a working ML model for a business use case and submit results for feedback.
